FUNK PARADE
In the spring of 2015, I connected with the organizers of a festival in DC called the Funk Parade that attracts around 50,000 attendees every year along the historic U Street corridor to celebrate funk music and its rich legacy locally. Soon after, I assumed the position of volunteer coordinator as our working relationship began to blossom. Since then, I have served as a member of their planning team, primarily assisting with the process of booking performers while also creating and co-hosting a series of concerts collaboratively.
